Frequently Asked Questions

How do you look out for the safety of your patients?

Very well, actually! In addition to following guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and OSHA, we use disposable products as often as possible. Between each patient visit, we thoroughly clean treatment rooms and sterilize reusable instruments in an autoclave. Because we value safety, we've invested in a digital X-ray machine, which emits about 80% less radiation that a traditional radiograph. We also use intraoral cameras and photography for close-up images, which promote accurate diagnoses. If you have questions about our safety and sterilization methods, call us. We'll gladly provide the information you need.

Do you refer patients to specialists?

While we're trained and equipped to handle most dental issues in our office, when a specialist would better serve you, we'll refer. Some dental specialists are oral surgeons, periodontists (supporting structures), endodontists (internal tooth problems), orthodontists (for moving teeth), and pedodontists (for children). Visit our specialists page here for more information.

What are the benefits of digital X-rays over traditional radiographs?

Digital X-rays offer unparalleled benefits over traditional radiographs: they're convenient, safe for the environment, provide a great opportunity for patient education, can be transferred and copied accurately, and best of all, they're safer for our patients. How can I improve my smile?

That sounds like an easy question to answer, but it isn't! Your smile is unique, and we won't compromise your individuality with smile enhancements. Smile design dentistry done right requires an initial consultation in which we'll discuss your goals, preferences, and options for care. Generally speaking, we may suggest porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, all-white fillings, and/or replacement teeth. After your comprehensive evaluation and consultation, we'll present a customized smile makeover plan for your review. We offer digital imaging for smile previews, as well.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Absolutely. We bet you didn't know that teeth whitening, in some form, has been around since the 1700s. Modern teeth whitening uses safe and effective bleaching gel to melt away stains and discoloration. We use Zoom! Whitening for in-office and at-home whitening.
